We couldn’t be happier with our kitchen renovation by Stephenson Construction! From the initial consultation to the final visit we had the most amazing experience of a truly stunning transformation. Our kitchen doubled in size with the designs Elizabeth and Rob recommended. These designs were not only gorgeous but functional. From the blueprint design drawings we were able to visualize our dream kitchen. Then, Elizabeth helped us select our tile, paint, plumbing fixtures, and lighting. To see the dramatic change from week to week was exciting! We felt like we were the only client with the personalized calls, on-site visits, and progress reports (I’m not sure how they managed their time with all their job sites but they made us feel like their most VIP client). We absolutely loved every employee and subcontractor who treated us professionally and respected our home. We made friendships along the way and we are so very impressed with this company. We interviewed a number of contractors as part of the process for figuring out who we wanted to use for finishing our basement. We began with Stephenson Construction and we were ready to sign with Rob by the time he was wrapping up our first consultation.

We appreciated the fact that Rob was direct and honest with everything.

Stephenson Construction did a phenomenal job helping us design our basement and to keep it within a relative budget that we had in mind. It was a big job! They moved plumbing, added HVAC ducts to our basement, and really worked with our ideas.

The overall job? They finished our basement with the following:
1. A full bar, with appliances (18” dishwasher, fridge, microwave, and it’s stubbed for a gas line should we need it in the future).
2. A bedroom
3. A full bathroom (incredible)
4. Media room
5. Flex room/workout room

All in all, it’s roughly around 1300 sq feet. There were snags along the way, but Rob and Jeff (construction supervisor) were responsive and easy to work with. Our basement looks incredible. It’s modern and clean with some classic elements mixed in.

We initially found Rob and Stephenson Construction through reviews on NextDoor. We interviewed Rob and another highly rated company. The consult visit was night and day! Rob spent considerable time with us to hear our wishes and offered solutions and a vision. The other contractor looked at our space quickly and then sent a cookie cutter design that looked like all of the basements on their website. We felt from the first interview that Rob could finish a basement for us that felt like an extension of our home while giving my husband the office space he needed and our family the entertainment space we wanted.

The design provided was exactly what we wanted. The project was not without hiccups that were frustrating. But Rob always addressed our concerns and questions professionally. He did not delay in responding to us at all even when it was outside of the business day. My husband is an HVAC engineer and is knowledgeable about parts of the renovation. Rob always made sure we were happy. We held our bar high and Rob met it!

Our result took longer than expected. But it is what it is in this construction era. The result is exactly what we wanted and we are grateful for Rob and his desire to provide a quality result!

Rob and his team did an outstanding job of remodeling our basement into something not only functional but beautiful! There was a lot of communication along the way, especially from our project manager, Jeff, who was extremely easy to work with. The design team helped us consider directions we may not have thought of ourselves, and everything came out in a fun yet put-together way. Our basement has been complete for about four months, but there is a lingering flooring issue. Even though all the invoices have been paid, Rob is still working to resolve the flooring issue to our satisfaction. Stephenson Construction finished our basement over the summer of 2021 (see River Rock photo gallery). Rob Stephenson is great to work with! He paired us up with a designer who developed a good rendering of our ideas & Rob was open to the additional changes we wanted made. Rob even gave us more economical options for some of our ideas without us having to sacrifice quality & our desired outcome. Rob promptly addressed any concerns we had and used professional subs who took pride in their work. Our home is new construction and the quality of work performed by his subs was better than the ones used by the builder of our home. We’d happily work Stephenson Construction again in the future.

Stephenson Construction recently finished remodeling our basement in Alpharetta. Rob Stephenson was excellent to work with, from initial design meetings through to construction completion. His subcontractors and designers were superb in their quality of work and extremely helpful with beneficial suggestions along the way. Rob took personal pride in our remodel project, and it shows in the finished product. We interviewed numerous contractors and were sold on Rob for organization, creativity, passion and the value for our investment. He delivered! Rob is the best in the industry. We spent two years trying to have our unfinished basement completed. We had contractor after contractor come out to our home. We had a substantial budget, but everyone was well over the budget. They also did not listen to what we wanted nor did they advise on what could be done within our budget. Every one of them did the exact same process. They spent half an hour taking measurements, and knew we wanted a bathroom and the rooms finished. They all were given our budget, and I knew from the reactions the quotes would come back higher. They all came back at $100k or more. Then we called Rob, he asked up front what the square footage was, and our budget. He quickly said our budget was not sufficient for the square footage. My wife and I decided to call Rob out because we were prepared to see what could be done. Rob came out and walked the basement, asked us what we wanted, what we needed. He then started walking the basement room by room asking what our vision was for the basement. Rob spent hours with us, and as time went on I knew I was dealing with a Master at his craft. He did not cut anything out of our wish list. He simply found ways to cut out square footage which actually made more practical sense. We have a large unfinished room for storage, and then we have another smaller storage area which holds the water heater, HVAC, electrical unit/box. By cutting this sliver of square footage of the room it actually made the room more usable. We never thought about it. Rob uses his laser pin and his mind after listening, and then starts creating a way to accomplish the best plan for the budget as he walks around the basement with you. He gave us everything we wanted and more when it was all done. Rob also walked our entire home on the main floor and upstairs to ensure the basement matched and flowed with the rest of our home. He knew exactly how to make the basement flow with our home. He provided a model design of the basement, so we could see a visual layout and idea of how it would look. He was the only contractor who closed us on the first visit because I knew he was a master at his craft. The guy simply is amazing, and so is our basement. I highly recommend hiring Stephenson Construction! From first contact to the finished product, Rob Stephenson is a true professional. My experience was filled with excellent communication throughout the process, expectations clearly established, professional subcontractors, clean worksite, and a beautifully finished project. Rob was a true professional and took a personal interest in our basement remodeling job and what it mean to our family dynamics that this be completed quickly and on time. He made great suggestions and cost effective ideas that we had not even thought about to make the space even better than we imagined it could be. He was in touch and updated us on the work schedule and who would be where and when. There were times when he was down doing the work himself in order to keep the schedule as close to on track. Stephenson Construction was the last contractor I had come out to give me a quote on my basement project out of 5 contractors. Rob, the owner of Stephenson Construction, is the most professional and personable contractor that I’ve met. He did not try to up sell me or make me feel that I had to contract with him for his services. He made me feel very comfortable and gave me an initial analysis of what I could and couldn’t do with the budget I was working with. He does however have a fee for drafting the plans and blueprint which is reasonable and understandable due to him taking time to draw the plans up. After that if you agree or don’t agree to contract with him or decide to use a different contractor you will already have your blueprint in hand. After we signed the service contract and agreed to terms work started right away. Him and his crew finished out my project well within the finish date and I couldn’t be happier. In fact even after the project was finished we had an issue with our HVAC system about 2 weeks later and called Rob. He was more than happy to have his HVAC tech come out and take a look. It needed work that was unrelated to the project and his tech was able to fix the issue within that day that Rob had him scheduled to come out. I’ve recommended Rob to another neighbor and the neighbor couldn’t be more pleased with his work and professionalism also. All future projects undoubtedly will be contracted through Stephenson Construction.

We love the work Stephenson Construction did for us. They finished our basement, which included adding a bedroom, full bath, kitchenette with bar, living room, entertainment area, the addition of non-existing windows and double doors, and storage areas. Rob was very thorough and patient with us during the design phase, and he guided us through the times we were indecisive or overwhelmed during the planning process. Whenever my husband or I presented a change or new idea, Rob and Crystal either made it happen, or they would be honest about why it wouldn’t work. They would help us brainstorm and offer suggestions. We appreciated their integrity and honesty for never allowing corners to be cut for the sake of fitting a square peg into a round hole, and we never felt pressured into going along with a design idea that we weren’t totally comfortable with. Both Rob and Crystal went the extra mile for us during the weeks of our renovation. Rob met us out on a Saturday to help us shop for interior finishes when we started to lose steam and he came over after midnight one weekend when there was a minor water issue, which he got resolved immediately. The work crews Rob hires are pleasant, do great reliable work, and we never felt uncomfortable leaving the house or letting our children run loose around the yard. All of the work was completed within Rob’s initial predicted eight week timeframe, and that included workers coming back out to fix anything we pointed out that needed addressing. If you’re looking for a quality renovation, Stephenson Construction won’t disappoint. I recommend them to anyone looking to update and add value to their home. We got everything we wanted and more, and now we have a beautiful basement friends, family, and neighbors (and us) rave about! We would do it again in a heartbeat.

Rob was very professional and attentive to our needs and budget. He was a little on the pricey side compared to other estimates we received but having worked with another contractor you definitely get what you pay for – what he charged was well worth the peace of mind that we were not being ripped off and had complete and quality results at the end. Workers were professional and besides the occasional noise we hardly knew they were there. Quality of work and attention to details was great. We had some unforeseen delays but with most construction contracts we kind of expected it. The difference was that Rob kept us informed every step of the way. We are enjoying every minute spent in our new space. I would definitely recommend and hire him again.
